What is the difference between IR sensor bar, and original sensor bar?

I have looked in stores online and even ebay for Wii Accessories, even sensor bars. I hate that because of the cord, and how thin it is, the sensor bar keeps falling, so I have looked only for wireless, and i cam upon an IR sensor bar. I know what IR is and what it stands for, but in the case of the wii, what is the difference and why get a IR sensor bar instead of the original

First of all, make sure that all the sensor bars you are looking at say “wireless” because IR doesn’t mean it is wireless. IR is the same as the original bar. IN FACT, the original bar is an IR bar. So don’t think it is special just because it says IR. All the bars are IR. IR or infer red, is just the light that comes out of the sensor bar, and because it is IR light, you can’t see it. The way it works is that five infer red light beams come out of each side of the bar. When the Wii remote sees the light (only the remote can see the light from a special camera on the remote) next to the t.v, it can tell how far it is from the t.v. or how far it moved. Then it send the information to the Wii. The wii then produces the image . The sensor bar really does nothing but shoot IR beams at the Wii remote. All the possessing happens in the remote its self. To prove this point a camera at the sensor bar next time it is on, you will see the bar is purple. Those are the IR light beams coming out of it.
